About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop manufacturing equipment and systems, including 3D models and detailed drawings
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance reliability, quality, and safety
  • Manage equipment projects from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and start-up of mechanical systems and machinery
  • Ensure all mechanical installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and company safety standards
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to source equipment and identify process improvements
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing systems to minimize downtime

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
  • Experience with automation and robotics in packaging or manufacturing systems
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools
  • Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and execution
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project and PowerPoint
  • Global mindset with an interest in technological and supply chain innovation
