About the role

Responsibilities

  • Partner with R&D teams during prototyping to provide manufacturing feasibility feedback and champion Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Define technical requirements and author RFPs for custom automation equipment, robotics, and tooling.
  • Manage vendor selection, capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets, and project timelines for machinery delivery.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure equipment meets cycle time, yield, and safety standards.
  • Oversee the transition of products from low-volume prototyping to mass production by building pilot lines and identifying scaling bottlenecks.
  • Design and optimize production layouts, material flows, and automation strategies using Industry 4.0 principles.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of manufacturing and process engineers.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including cycle times, first-pass yield (FPY), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (Master's or MBA is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Proven track record in New Product Introduction (NPI) and working alongside R&D teams.
  • Deep understanding of automated assembly processes, robotics, and how design impacts automation feasibility.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and PFMEA execution.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
