About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, specialists, and technicians performing component and PCBA processes for development and flight hardware
- Develop and implement a robust production strategy to establish internal PCBA production capabilities to meet factory rate targets
- Champion Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) by collaborating with design engineering to influence hardware designs
- Take ownership of physical production layout, optimizing material flow from receiving through to finished products
- Develop new processes, GSE, and tooling to support new hardware designs and continuous improvement
- Interface with engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve nonconformances and pursue corrective actions
- Create and maintain detailed schedules, metrics, and tools to monitor production success, such as yield and on-time delivery
- Enforce a culture of safety and quality throughout the workplace
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree
- 5+ years of PCBA experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment
- 3+ years in a leadership or team lead capacity transitioning products from development to production
- Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as required
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (due to export regulations)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fast-paced, iterative design or manufacturing environments (aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics)
- Experience with the design and manufacturing of high-reliability electronics
- Ability to develop and maintain high-performing suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Experience implementing automation into production processes
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE), gauge R&R, and process qualifications
- Experience working with ERP, MRP, and MES systems
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems
