About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee Manufacturing Engineering activities including process flow, layout, and equipment specification
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), launch, and change management activities
- Manage and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team through coaching and performance management
- Support structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D) and ensure robust root cause analysis
- Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Kaizen and CI methodologies
- Promote a strong behavioral safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE procedures
- Monitor project budget spend and manage allocated CAPEX responsibilities
Requirements
- HNC/HND level education in an Engineering discipline
- Experience managing a multi-skilled team of Manufacturing Engineers
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages
- Strong communication and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree level education in a Managerial or Engineering discipline
- Experience within Automotive or FMCG environments
- Experience in an Automotive Unionised environment
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Proven track record of leading CI projects
