About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of mechanical jigs and fixtures for wearable and robotic devices
  • Contribute to DFM/DFA efforts to ensure designs can scale from low-volume prototypes to high-volume production
  • Work with vendors and suppliers on prototyping, tooling, and production readiness
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and maintain quality standards
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process maps, workflows, and SOPs
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and implement productivity solutions
  • Support the build team to meet production milestones (50/50 split between engineering and production support)

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field
  • Prior mechanical or manufacturing engineering experience through internships or project work
  • Strong skills in CAD (OnShape or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and machining
  • Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and an interest in scaling prototypes to production
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach with the ability to iterate quickly in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on consumer hardware, robotics, or compact devices
