About the role
Responsibilities
- Improve and manage manufacturing processes to optimize the use of employees, machinery, and assets.
- Design and implement new processes and tooling for new products, including research and purchasing assessments.
- Perform operational studies, including time studies, productivity standards, and operational needs analysis.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure process controls and safety compliance.
- Develop training materials and conduct training on process control activities and standard operating procedures.
- Study material flow and operations sequences to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.
- Manage improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including developing VSMs and scheduling Kaizen events.
- Support the design of prototypes or modifications to existing products and equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a current student with at least three years of completed coursework.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
- Strong mathematical proficiency in statistical analysis, sampling theory, and data-driven problem-solving.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and write professional reports and manuals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Experience with Solid Modeling and 3D design.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment manufacturing, welding technology, or materials technology.
