Manufacturing Engineer – Work Measurement & Process Optimization

Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D during prototyping to review manual assembly steps and propose design modifications that simplify handling.
• Utilize MTM methodologies on early-stage CAD models to estimate standard assembly times and predictive labor costs.
• Implement mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) techniques to minimize assembly errors through physical design features.
• Provide ergonomic design guidance to protect operators from repetitive strain injuries.
• Apply MTM-1, MTM-2, or UAS methodologies to analyze manual operations and establish precise standard times.
• Design and optimize production line balancing to eliminate bottlenecks and maximize throughput.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience applying time-study and work-measurement methodologies on a live production floor.
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, workplace ergonomics, and facility layout design.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the defense sector.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified MTM practitioner.
