About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on process improvement efforts to improve safety, quality, throughput, delivery, and cost
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for consistent, compliant product with high yield
- Drive day-to-day process stability through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and bottleneck elimination
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction
- Design and implement equipment, tooling, and automation solutions
- Enable new product introduction and scaling through DFM improvements and capacity planning
- Optimize factory layouts and material flow across log yard, kilns, and production lines
- Build and maintain production performance metrics for data-driven decision making
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Direct ownership of engineering or process improvement projects
- Proven ability to diagnose and solve mechanical or process problems on the production floor
- Experience in heavy industrial, automotive, or similarly demanding manufacturing environments
- Comfort working directly on heavy equipment and industrial machinery
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in wood products, forestry, or heavy industrial manufacturing
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and standard work
- Experience with statistical process control and data-driven manufacturing
- Experience launching new production lines or processes from scratch
