Manufacturing Engineer

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company bringing the benefits of space to the masses through advanced communications technology. We are building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for complex antenna systems and RF assemblies
• Design and validate tooling, fixtures, and assembly processes
• Partner with design teams to drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM)
• Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop detailed work instructions, process flows, and assembly documentation
• Support environmental, thermal, and RF performance testing setups
• Evaluate and procure production equipment and lead make-versus-buy trade studies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., Siemens NX)
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
• Knowledge of precision assembly, welding, adhesives, and mechanical fastening
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen or protected individual under ITAR regulations
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week and extended hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing work instructions and assembly documentation
• Hands-on experience with complex electromechanical or RF hardware
• Basic understanding of electrical and RF systems
