Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineers to influence satellite designs for manufacturability and testability
• Plan and document detailed assembly and test sequences for satellite components and electro-mechanical elements
• Write and manage comprehensive assembly procedures and work instructions
• Identify and specify requirements for assembly aids such as jigs, fixtures, and custom tooling
• Work with technicians during hands-on assembly to ensure process compliance and troubleshoot issues
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for process anomalies
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, and safety
• Maintain documentation of procedures, tools, and lessons learned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with PLM and MES software tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards
• Experience with satellite or spacecraft integration and test
• Experience with CAD tools for mechanical, electrical, and wire harness design
