About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and implement manufacturing processes for flight and non-flight cable harness assemblies
- Act as the primary liaison between design engineering and manufacturing organizations
- Identify improvement opportunities to ensure product quality, reduce lead time, and decrease labor hours
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for non-conformances
- Create process plans, standard operating procedures, Bill of Materials (BOM), and rework instructions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality engineering and supply chain to support new product introduction (NPI)
- Review drawings, standards, and technical documents to ensure manufacturability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 0-2+ years of experience working in a harness or cable assembly environment
- Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and IPC J-STD-001
- Experience with MES, MRP, and ERP systems
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Ability to work a second-shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in harness manufacturing and design (electrical & integration)
- Experience in a high-rate manufacturing environment
- Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness acceptance testing
- Experience writing test scripts and using Cirris CH2 or Weetech testers
- Competency using 3D CAD modeling and PDM software (e.g., Solidworks)
- Exposure to harness design software such as Capital or Zuken
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
