Manufacturing Engineer - Metals

Responsibilities

• Lead development of metal components across processes including welding, extrusion, machining, casting, and sheet metal forming
• Support development of EV-specific components like cold plates, busbars, and enclosures
• Apply metallurgy fundamentals for material selection and process compatibility
• Drive development of advanced joining technologies such as Friction Stir Welding and laser welding
• Work with supplier partners to develop manufacturing capability and process stability
• Conduct process audits, capability studies, and manufacturability reviews
• Improve process capability (Cp/Cpk) and drive optimization for quality and yield

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in metal manufacturing, fabrication or supplier process development
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, extrusion, machining, casting, and sheet metal forming
• Strong metallurgy fundamentals and understanding of material compatibility and weldability
• Experience working with suppliers and external manufacturing partners
• Understanding of process capability, validation and manufacturing scale-up

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EV battery pack, thermal systems or power electronics manufacturing
• Exposure to advanced joining technologies such as Friction Stir Welding or Diffusion Welding
• Experience with aluminium alloys, copper busbars and thermal management systems
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up and DFM/DFA principles
• Understanding of APQP, PFMEA and manufacturing quality systems
