Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist and train production staff in troubleshooting process, equipment, or tooling issues
• Create, maintain, and audit Visual Work Instructions and Standard Work for operators
• Participate in new design reviews to provide recommendations on manufacturability and compatibility
• Perform internal process development for new and existing tooling
• Review process changes and machine improvements with the Quality department to ensure compliance
• Perform revisions to process FMEA, control plans, and production flows for design changes
• Investigate and implement countermeasures for internal and external quality or safety concerns
• Facilitate process and equipment training classes to elevate production group skills

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering plus 2 years of experience, OR a High School diploma/GED plus 5 years of direct manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and material tolerances
• Experience with manufacturing processes involving hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Basic knowledge of machine electrical wiring
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Exposure to industrial automation or robotics, including automated assembly or vision systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive industry manufacturing experience
• Understanding of injection molding and plastics processing
• Experience using CAD software or SIMS
• Experience using an ERP system (SAP preferred)
• Knowledge of plastic welding processes (vibration, hot plate, laser, or sonic welding)
• Experience managing 3rd party contractors for special projects or repairs
