About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and provide direction to the manufacturing engineering team in Rochester to drive operational excellence
- Train, develop, and evaluate engineering employees while establishing group objectives
- Develop and execute long-range plans for process improvements and manufacturing activities
- Oversee tooling activities and evaluate proposals for new or existing manufacturing processes
- Develop capital estimates, machinery and equipment (M&E) specifications, and business cases
- Conduct safety risk assessments for new processes and equipment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Product Engineering, HR, and Suppliers
- Maintain manufacturing performance and develop working relationships with UAW leadership and skilled trades
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing/maintenance leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a project execution engineer for multiple machine builds
- Understanding of GD&T and manufacturing process documentation (PFD, PFMEA, PCP)
- Knowledge of Gage R&R/MSA and conducting risk assessments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD (Solidworks) or machine programming (Rockwell)
- Experience with robotics, vision systems, and various manufacturing processes (metal forming, welding, molding, etc.)
- Experience developing business cases and safety certifications
