About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide Assembly Manufacturing Engineering support and basic troubleshooting for current operations at the Waterloo, Iowa facility
  • Research, initiate, and execute safety and ergonomic improvement activities and projects
  • Drive improvements to support Distinctive Product Quality initiatives and continuous improvements in delivery, uptime, cost, and efficiency
  • Support the implementation of new products and manage design changes for current products
  • Lead the analysis, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology aligned with the Smart Connect Factory strategy
  • Support requirements for internal operating philosophy (JD-QPS) and external standards such as ISO

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing position supporting a workforce (academic or internship experience is acceptable)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with John Deere specific software such as JDAAT, MPP, or SMART Test
  • Experience with work instruction software, SAP, Windchill, or other manufacturing tools
  • Proficiency in computer programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with data analysis software like Minitab
  • Experience with robotics, robotic programming, or tooling design
  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and ECN process execution
