About the role

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data-driven projects
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Apply mistake-proofing methodologies to high-risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues
  • Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets and visual work instructions
  • Support manufacturing equipment and the John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT) in assigned areas
  • Improve part planning, including specified locations for point-of-use and storage parts
  • Support multi-functional Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) to improve overall assembly quality

Requirements

  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (gained through education, internships, or practical work)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and tooling
  • Proficiency with engineering tools and systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience managing small strategic or medium-complexity tactical projects
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Operations discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of assembly line processes
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Creo
  • Experience with MPP or OMS work instruction development
  • Proficiency with JDAAT, SAP, Windchill, or similar software tools
  • Experience implementing engineering changes
  • Experience with standard data application, time studies, and line balancing
