About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead OEE improvement activities on established machining lines, targeting cycle time, downtime, speed losses, and scrap/rework.
- Facilitate structured Kaizen events and daily continuous improvement in collaboration with operators, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Implement and verify countermeasures through data analysis and follow-up reports.
- Reduce internal quality losses using structured problem-solving tools such as 5Why, 4M, 5W1H, and Ishikawa.
- Coach and train operators to consistently perform to defined process standards.
- Strengthen process capability by improving setups, tooling strategies, and gage methods.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3 to 7 years of experience in machining manufacturing (CNC machining preferred).
- Demonstrated experience improving OEE and reducing losses in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean/Kaizen principles and structured problem solving (A3, 5 Why, Pareto).
- Ability to coach and influence operators and cross-functional teams on the shop floor.
- Proficiency in interpreting production and quality data to verify improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with precision components such as gears or shafts.
- Familiarity with automation of flow, robotics, and in-line automated gaging.
