Manufacturing Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Develop and document production processes, including testing procedures and safety requirements
• Interface with quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and lead root cause investigations
• Design and implement tooling and equipment to improve quality and cost performance
• Lead continuous improvement using lean tools and techniques like 5S
• Introduce automation and ensure equipment data links to MRP and quality systems
• Contribute to design reviews focusing on design for manufacture and design for test
• Perform Value Stream Mapping, Method of Manufacture planning, and cell design
• Implement factory layouts, equipment selection, and production commissioning

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar engineering discipline
• 2+ years of professional engineering experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Understanding of fluid and structural mechanics fundamentals
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace materials
• Ability to commute to buildings and work long hours or weekends as needed for launch schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, specifically with fluid components
• Experience with assembly and testing of turbomachinery and combustion devices
• Experience with TIG, EB, and laser welding, heat treating, and additive manufacturing
• Experience with CNC machining and precision cleaning
• Experience performing PFMEA/DFMEA and root cause corrective action projects
