About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality across fabrication and assembly operations
- Support and drive new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and design for manufacturability (DFM) efforts
- Develop and maintain work instructions, routings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
- Lead root cause analysis efforts using structured methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or 8D
- Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and labor utilization analysis to improve throughput
- Support equipment selection, tooling design, and production line or cell layout optimization
- Develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, and process documentation
- Partner with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to improve process capability and reliability
- Participate in Lean initiatives including Kaizen events and 5S activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment
- Experience with DFM, PFMEA, time studies, and root cause analysis methodologies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication and assembly
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC, air filtration, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Exposure to automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
- Experience supporting capital projects or equipment implementation
