About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, and tool/fixture designs
- Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporate engineering changes into MDPs
- Perform root cause and corrective action analysis when dispositioning non-conforming material
- Drive continuous improvement using Six Sigma principles to improve cycle time, reduce costs, and minimize ergonomic risks
- Provide real-time technical support to in-house manufacturers, fabricators, and the supply base
- Assist with tool and fixture development to improve process ergonomics and prevent recurrence of issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Less than 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance
- Ability to obtain an interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to work across disciplines
- Experience with technical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools, specifically CREO/ProE
- Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming
- Strong organizational skills and an innovative mindset for continuous improvement
