Manufacturing Engineer - Harness

Responsibilities

• Act as the liaison between design engineering and manufacturing organizations
• Develop, qualify, and implement manufacturing processes for flight and non-flight cable harness assemblies
• Identify improvement opportunities to ensure product quality, reduce lead time, and decrease labor hours
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for non-conformances
• Create process plans, standard operating procedures, Bill of Materials (BOM), and rework instructions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality engineering and supply chain to support new product introduction (NPI)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 0-2 years of experience working in a harness or cable assembly environment
• Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and IPC J-STD-001
• Experience with MES, MRP, and ERP systems
• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in harness manufacturing and design (electrical & integration)
• Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness acceptance testing
• Experience writing test scripts and using Cirris CH2 or Weetech testers
• Competency in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., Solidworks) and PDM software
• Exposure to harness design software such as Capital or Zuken
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
