Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and document continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes, fixturing, tooling, and production equipment.
• Generate manufacturing process routings to ensure cost-effective, high-quality precision components.
• Use PTC Creo CAD software to develop solid models, drawings, and BOMs for tooling and machine components.
• Provide hands-on production support in a material removal environment, including multi-axis turning, milling, EDM, and precision grinding.
• Assist with daily CNC programming requirements for vertical machining centers and multi-axis lathes.
• Participate in continuous improvement Kaizen teams using lean manufacturing principles (PDCA, 5-Whys, 6S, etc.).
• Coordinate with tooling vendors to identify and test opportunities for machining efficiency and cost reduction.
• Produce technical documentation including operating instructions, speeds, feeds, and quality control techniques.

Requirements

• Technical certificate or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Technology, or 5 years of applicable work experience.
• 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or 5 years in the tooling/manufacturing engineering field.
• Proven experience with CNC material removal processes.
• Proficiency in solid model CAD systems (PTC Creo preferred).
• Experience with process routings and steel material application.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) for production order processing and requisitions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Esprit CAM systems.
• Ability to develop parameter-driven macro-based ISO g-code or EIA for CNC machinery.
• Familiarity with ISO quality and environmental programs.
