General Matter enriches uranium. We are designing, building, and operating the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services, here in the US, to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel for AI, advanced manufacturing, and critical industries.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes to ensure reliable, safe systems
- Collaborate with design engineers to recommend improvements for manufacturability, performance, safety, and cost
- Build, assemble, and validate prototypes, test stands, and development units
- Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and develop hardware mitigations
- Establish manufacturing and quality practices that scale with the company
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, development, or production engineering
- Proficiency in 3D CAD packages (Solidworks, CATIA, NX, etc.)
- Ability to create manufacturing drawings using GD&T
- Hands-on experience building hardware
- Evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects or portfolio
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Ability to perform trade studies using first principles
- Experience in fast-paced engineering environments
- Experience with hardware transitioning from early development to production
- Hands-on skills including machining, welding, and assembly
