Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze manufacturability and costs associated with CNC machining
• Determine necessary design changes to meet builder specifications
• Define manufacturing processes, machine selection, cycle times, and setup costs
• Generate "should cost" estimates using in-house calculators and software
• Scrutinize manufacturing partner quotes for optimized material and process costs
• Negotiate with manufacturing partners to ensure competitive pricing
• Provide DFx feedback by studying 3D models and 2D prints
• Prepare RFQ packages based on partner capability and capacity
• Develop cost calculators and provide feedback to the automation software team
• Coordinate with logistics for packaging and shipping cost estimation

Requirements

• 6-8 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience
• 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree
• Expertise in 3, 4, and 5-axis milling, turning, grinding, EDM, and gear hobbing
• Strong understanding of GD&T and CNC programming
• Deep knowledge of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.) and their properties
• Proficiency in heat treatment and secondary processes like anodizing and plating
• Experience with PPAP, ISO 9001, and AS9100D documentation
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
