About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in updating manufacturing floor layouts to improve material flow and ensure safe operator movements
- Perform time studies and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks
- Support the tracking of key performance indicators including First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE)
- Support Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) reviews by documenting feedback from the factory floor
- Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly instructions
- Assist in the identification and design of manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures
- Help resolve real-time manufacturing issues and participate in root cause analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or electromechanical environment
- Basic proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or SketchUp
- Foundational knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles like 5S or Kaizen
- Familiarity with metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly processes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for 8 hours or more daily
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Plant Simulation software or modeling tools
- EIT certification or foundational Six Sigma Green Belt training
- Experience or coursework related to ERP/MRP software for managing BOMs
