About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical leader for overnight operations (Monday–Friday, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am)
  • Ensure the safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets
  • Make high-quality technical decisions in real-time to resolve process drift and non-conformances
  • Train, mentor, and develop technicians on high-precision manufacturing processes
  • Act as a critical feedback loop between overnight execution and weekday engineering teams
  • Translate complex engineering requirements into actionable guidance on the production floor
  • Maintain production rhythm and ensure technicians have necessary tools and materials

Requirements

  • BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
  • 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
  • Proficiency with NX (CAD) and Teamcenter (PLM)
  • Experience using Jira, Slack, or Odoo (or similar ERP systems)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Dedication to safety in environments involving heat, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in high-complexity assembly environments
  • Experience with insulation systems (e.g., stator winding, VPI processes, taping, high-voltage isolation)
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and FMEA
