About the Company

Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms. MIT-founded and backed by top investors like Founders Fund and Y Combinator, we are working to accelerate the world's transition to renewables by addressing labor bottlenecks in solar construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the building and scaling of production for state-of-the-art robotic systems
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure systems are manufacturable, cost-effective, and easy to assemble
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, drawings, and BOMs
  • Support part qualification, incoming inspection, and supplier quality initiatives
  • Work with internal teams and external manufacturing partners to scale from prototype to production

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience bringing complex electromechanical products from prototype to production
  • Experience with systems involving metal fabrication, rigging, and heavy machinery
  • Ability to read and create mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work 4-5 days/week onsite in San Leandro, CA
  • Willingness to travel ~10% to solar construction sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in a related engineering field
  • Experience with ION manufacturing software
  • Experience sourcing and qualifying suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Familiarity with DFM, DFA, and GD&T principles
  • Interest in growing into a leadership role
