About the Company
Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms. MIT-founded and backed by top investors like Founders Fund and Y Combinator, we are working to accelerate the world's transition to renewables by addressing labor bottlenecks in solar construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the building and scaling of production for state-of-the-art robotic systems
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure systems are manufacturable, cost-effective, and easy to assemble
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, drawings, and BOMs
- Support part qualification, incoming inspection, and supplier quality initiatives
- Work with internal teams and external manufacturing partners to scale from prototype to production
Requirements
- 4-8 years of experience bringing complex electromechanical products from prototype to production
- Experience with systems involving metal fabrication, rigging, and heavy machinery
- Ability to read and create mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work 4-5 days/week onsite in San Leandro, CA
- Willingness to travel ~10% to solar construction sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in a related engineering field
- Experience with ION manufacturing software
- Experience sourcing and qualifying suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Familiarity with DFM, DFA, and GD&T principles
- Interest in growing into a leadership role
