About the role
Responsibilities
- Translate design specifications into step-by-step manufacturing and test procedures for technicians
- Collaborate with design and quality engineering to ensure processes meet safety and design standards
- Audit and inspect processes regularly to ensure compliance and desired outcomes
- Refine manufacturing processes using productivity metrics and technician feedback to improve efficiency
- Execute lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies
- Assist in prototyping and testing new drone designs
- Select, install, and maintain manufacturing equipment while troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in hardware or manufacturing environments
- Experience building robust documentation for the build and validation of components and systems
- Familiarity with scaling manufacturing from NPI to mass production
- Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement techniques (e.g., Ishikawa diagrams, Kaizens)
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or electrical CAD (e.g., Altium, OrCAD)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related engineering field
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
- Experience with automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics tools
- Knowledge of GD&T fundamentals
