Manufacturing Engineer BIW - Geometry

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance of product geometry and CMM measurement for cabs in the Hoskote manufacturing facility.
• Manage all geometric aspects of cabs produced in the factory, ensuring compliance with Volvo Corporate guidelines.
• Develop and maintain routines, instructions, and specifications for fixture design regarding geometry.
• Analyze geometric tolerances through CMM results and identify necessary corrections in Jigs & Fixtures.
• Drive design validation and the development of Jigs & Fixtures.
• Support the Operations area regarding quality issues, product reviews, and process optimization.
• Ensure all process and tool drawing documentation remains up to date.
• Participate in assigned projects using the Project Steering Model (PSM) approach.

Requirements

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (certificates in Product Geometry and CMM programming preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of industrial experience within the automotive sector (Truck or Car industry).
• Proven expertise in BIW cab geometry and cab welding processes.
• Hands-on experience with CMM programming using PIWEB quality data management and PolyWorks metrology software.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, equipment, and health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in data analysis, process optimization, and quality control methods.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with global manufacturing teams and line builders.
