About the role
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain build plans, step-by-step work instructions, and digital assets for manufacturing execution.
- Perform 3D process planning, spatial analysis, and virtual/physical assembly simulations to mitigate manufacturing risks.
- Integrate advanced digital tools, such as interactive digital mockups and AR/VR aides, into production workflows.
- Apply Lean principles to identify and remove waste associated with advanced technology implementations.
- Assess Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) for solution selection and deployment.
- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing operations, tooling, quality, and safety teams.
- Train and coach production personnel on new tools, processes, and digital content.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with a focus on assembly/process planning and work instruction development.
- Proficiency in 3D spatial analysis and 3D modeling software (e.g., NX, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and digital manufacturing data flows.
- Ability to perform engineering analysis for design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 and able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies in manufacturing.
- Proficiency with 3D process planning and assembly simulation tools (e.g., JT, DMU, Delmia, or Process Simulate).
- Experience with advanced digital manufacturing suites like Teamcenter Manufacturing or FactoryX.
- Formal Lean training or certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt).
- Experience implementing or managing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integrations.
- Exposure to aerospace manufacturing standards and regulated environments.
