About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and develop manufacturing processes for critical sub-systems requiring conventional and special processes
- Mature processes from prototype to production by establishing standard workflows and qualification plans
- Participate in design reviews to assess and influence manufacturability based on process tolerances
- Collaborate with design and materials teams to drive DFM improvements
- Analyze manufacturing discrepancies and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Develop and evaluate new manufacturing processes and equipment to reduce costs and non-conformance
- Train technicians and engineers on best-in-class operations practices
- Participate in root cause investigations across development, production, and field operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or physics
- 2+ years of experience in special process manufacturing, process qualification, or aerospace/nuclear super alloys
- Experience handling hazardous materials (e.g., acids, alkali metals)
- Experience creating work instructions and tracking BOM components
- Experience designing tools and assembly fixtures using CAD systems
- Knowledge of PLM, ERP, and MES systems
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware manufacturing challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Experience with welding, brazing, heat treatments, additive manufacturing, or NDT
- Experience creating factory layouts based on production demand
- General knowledge of GD&T
- Proficiency with NX CAD software
- Hands-on experience with fluid, gas, or high voltage systems
- Experience with part inspection technologies like CMM or micrometers
