Manufacturing Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead deep technical investigations into emerging and disruptive manufacturing technologies
• Identify, evaluate, and prototype new processes to transform product design and production
• Translate early-stage concepts into practical demonstrations and scalable solutions
• Partner with suppliers, research institutions, and industry leaders to assess external capabilities
• Develop insights and recommendations to shape technology strategy and long-term roadmaps
• Collaborate across product engineering, design, and marketing to align manufacturing capabilities with customer needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials engineering
• 10+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing or technology development
• Proven track record of leading new manufacturing technologies from concept to prototype
• Deep expertise in an advanced manufacturing domain (e.g., additive manufacturing, automation, or materials processing)
• Demonstrated ability to drive technology evaluation and strategy in ambiguous environments
• Experience influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders with data-driven insights
• Experience collaborating with external partners such as suppliers, startups, or research institutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in manufacturing, materials, or a related discipline
• Recognized industry expertise through patents, publications, or leadership roles
• Experience building or managing technology incubation pipelines or portfolios
• Demonstrated success in shaping long-term technology roadmaps
• Experience scaling processes from prototype to pilot or early-stage production
