About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine and engine controls for existing and new machining and assembly lines.
- Lead complex systems projects, including vendor research, technical specifications, and installation scheduling.
- Implement and support hardware and software for PLC, CNC, HMI, and engine controls.
- Manage device-level networks, servo, and VFD hardware and software.
- Ensure all engineering practices comply with government regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee project funding, tracking CAPEX and NRE expenditures to meet cost targets.
- Collaborate with global manufacturing engineering teams and local production, maintenance, and quality departments.
- Provide technical assistance and support to manufacturing operations and oversee activities of tradesmen or contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience specifically with Siemens controls.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for controls-related drawings.
- Hands-on experience with PLC, CNC, HMI, and VFD systems.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% (including international travel).
- Strong technical communication skills, both written and oral.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management or supervisory experience.
- Experience with global projects and new product launches or machine retrofits.
- Experience with production-related MES and FIS systems.
- Ability to analyze complex data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
