Manufacturing Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes at the Wichita plant, including budgeting, costing, capital spending, inventory, and productivity
• Act as the primary liaison between finance and plant operations
• Develop manufacturing and support budgets and maintain accurate manufacturing cost files
• Forecast variances and work with the management team to ensure financial and operational goals are met
• Prepare monthly closing requirements, including journal entries, walks, and reconciliation reviews
• Analyze operating variances (MUV and FBV) and provide recommendations for improvement
• Analyze and approve productivity, cost-saving measures, PCNs, and capital expenditures
• Provide finance training to strengthen the overall capability of the plant management team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience
• Demonstrated understanding of managerial accounting within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Advanced knowledge of PC spreadsheets, databases, and standard cost/inventory systems
• Strong analytical, technical accounting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean manufacturing experience
• SAP experience
• CPA, CMA, or MBA designation
