About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of new or revised assembly processes for component parts and subassemblies
- Design assembly operation sequences and equipment arrangements for tasks such as fastening, labeling, and packaging
- Monitor assembly rates and finished goods inventory to resolve issues impacting cost, quality, or production targets
- Perform quality inspections and functional tests on assembled goods
- Provide input for Design for Manufacturing (DfM) to ensure ease of manual assembly
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and labor routings within the ERP system
- Support Change Management activities by reviewing proposed changes and implementing approved updates
- Organize and conduct shop floor meetings to communicate upcoming process changes to production areas
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- 0-1 years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of process documentation including Control Plans, Work Instructions, and PFMEA
- Knowledge of performing time studies or calculating standard time using pre-determined time systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design systems
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally based on project needs
- Strong technical written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Axle, Transmission, or similar powertrain products
- Knowledge of Lean System Principles and waste elimination
- Experience with project management or supervisory roles
- Certification in a pre-determined time system (MTM, MODapts, MOST, etc.)
- Experience with 3D model systems and interpreting data
