About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a senior liaison between the agency, elected officials, community stakeholders, and other governmental entities
- Apprise the Borough Commissioner of potential issues related to transportation initiatives and projects
- Represent the agency at community board meetings, presentations, and public hearings
- Coordinate with district offices including Assembly, Senate, City Council, and Borough President offices
- Resolve or facilitate the resolution of community and stakeholder issues
- Prepare written responses and status updates to constituents and elected officials
- Supervise subordinate staff involved in community liaison functions and multimodal programs
- Oversee the administration of the speed hump database
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Policy, Transportation Planning, Environmental Policy, Technology Policy, Public Administration, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree can substitute for 1 year of experience
- Ph.D. can substitute for up to 2 years of experience
