About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead short- and long-range development activities for the Quinlan School of Business (QSB).
- Manage a team responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors for major, planned, and leadership annual gifts.
- Personally manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects to secure a high volume of significant gifts.
- Partner with the Dean and academic leadership to align fundraising priorities with the School’s and University’s strategic plans.
- Set and achieve multiyear fundraising growth goals and metrics for QSB.
- Support volunteer leadership groups, including the Dean’s Board of Advisers.
- Collaborate with University Advancement colleagues to drive key performance indicators and ensure data integrity.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of significant development leadership experience, preferably in higher education or a major cultural, healthcare, or civic setting.
- Proven quantifiable track record of personally developing, soliciting, and closing seven-figure gifts.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Demonstrated history of professional longevity (3-5 years of tenure at previous employers).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience building, managing, and holding gift officer teams accountable.
- Comprehensive understanding of principal and major gifts, annual giving, and corporate/foundation relations.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate strategic plans and implement successful programs.
- Experience staffing executive leadership (President/CEO or Trustees) in executing major gift strategies.
- Direct experience working within a complex institution with multiple academic units.
- Proven commitment to diversity and success in building diverse development teams.
