Managing Director, Middle Market M&A

Responsibilities

• Lead middle market M&A deal origination and manage high-level client relationships within an integrated Commercial Banking platform.
• Generate significant revenue through strategic deal execution and cross-selling bank products.
• Oversee the deal team to maximize sector penetration and returns, including creating pitch books and leading presentations.
• Negotiate highly complex financial transactions and act as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders.
• Develop sophisticated financial models to analyze client portfolios, anticipate needs, and identify opportunities.
• Manage risk by balancing the Bank's risk appetite with client needs, ensuring compliance with all internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with sector coverage partners and internal specialists to deliver creative, client-focused solutions.
• Drive organizational effectiveness by recommending business priorities and leading strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, including experience negotiating and structuring financial transactions.
• 9+ years of professional experience with a proven track record in business development or a corporate lending environment.
• Post-secondary degree in finance, economics, or accounting.
• Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and influence stakeholders in complex environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA or MBA designation.
• Extensive experience in the business services sector.
• Demonstrated thought leadership and innovation within the financial services industry.
