Managing Counsel, Merchant

Responsibilities

• Provide business and product legal support for the Merchant Solutions division
• Independently draft and negotiate complex client, partner, and commercial agreements
• Advise executive management on business, contractual, and risk matters
• Collaborate with specialists in finance, audit, tax, regulatory, privacy, and technology
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, laws, and regulations

Requirements

• 8+ years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house setting
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction and in good standing
• Valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the fintech or payments industry
• Experience supporting complex commercial relationships in a regulated environment
• Background in financial services, money transmission, or technology platforms
• Experience with complex commercial litigation or contract interpretation
• Knowledge of corporate bankruptcy proceedings and contractual remedies
