About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and project management for projects in mining, oil and gas, power, and renewables
  • Develop social assessments, management frameworks, and strategies aligned with regulatory best practices
  • Drive oversight and quality assurance across diverse project scopes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with government, Indigenous group, and community representatives
  • Mentor junior staff on technical approaches and consulting fundamentals
  • Lead proposal development, including crafting technical scopes, timelines, and cost estimates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, law, public policy, or a related field
  • 4+ years of professional experience with demonstrated ability to lead work scopes, manage teams, and oversee budgets
  • Proven experience in social performance, human rights, or impact/risk assessments
  • Experience working with Indigenous peoples in Canada and understanding the historical context of reconciliation
  • Strong project management skills, including work planning and scheduling
  • Exceptional communication and technical writing skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various client locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant social science or policy field
  • Prior consulting experience specifically within the mining or renewables sectors
  • Experience with Indigenous engagement and reconciliation initiatives
  • Facilitation experience, including consensus building or co-design processes
  • Knowledge of Equator Principles and International Finance Corporation Performance Standards
  • Advanced French language skills
