About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement teams in planning and executing M&A tax consulting projects, including Section 382 ownership change analyses, tax basis studies, and corporate restructurings.
  • Advise clients on federal income tax consequences for mergers, acquisitions, liquidations, and reorganizations.
  • Research and analyze complex corporate and consolidated return tax issues to prepare technical memoranda and tax opinion letters.
  • Train and develop staff, senior, and manager-level team members on tax laws, engagement processes, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement best practices and execute go-to-market strategies for the M&A Tax practice.
  • (Senior Manager) Manage a portfolio of clients and identify new marketplace opportunities to grow the practice.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in federal corporate tax and consolidated return groups within a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Extensive expertise in Section 382 ownership change quantitative analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional license such as CPA, EA, or JD/LLM.
  • Deep knowledge of Subchapter C, bankruptcy/insolvency taxation, and consolidated return regulations.
  • Strong computational analysis, research, and technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • (Senior Manager) Minimum of 8 years of recent experience in public accounting, a corporate tax department, or a law firm.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high-level client relationships.
