Manager - Taxation

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end GST compliance, including monthly payments, return filings, reconciliations, and MIS reporting.
• Oversee adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements related to indirect taxation.
• Manage GST audits, pre-GST assessment proceedings, and respond to queries from statutory bodies.
• Lead litigation management by driving timely action on appeals and coordinating representation before tribunals and courts.
• Develop and implement indirect tax strategies and identify tax planning opportunities.
• Stay updated on evolving GST laws and communicate potential business impacts to stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and monitor the indirect tax team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Maintain efficient documentation systems for returns, audit papers, and litigation documents.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in indirect taxation.
• Strong understanding of GST, indirect tax regulations, litigation processes, and tax planning frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and ERP systems, specifically SAP.
• Proven experience in leading and managing tax teams.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and representation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA, CMA, or LLB qualification.
• Experience working in a SAP-enabled ERP environment.
• Prior experience in Big Four consulting or within a large manufacturing organization.
