Manager, Tax (Income Tax)

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
• Coordinate with third-party providers on R&D tax credit studies, including data gathering and documentation.
• Manage state depreciation adjustments and other state conformity differences, such as IRC Section 174.
• Research and analyze federal and state tax matters to document technical positions and recommendations.
• Support federal and state income tax audits by gathering documentation and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations under ASC 740.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the tax department.
• Supervise and mentor a Senior Tax Analyst, overseeing scheduling, prioritization, and professional development.

Requirements

• University degree and/or technical certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience with U.S. federal and multistate corporate income tax compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification.
• 5–8 years of experience in corporate income taxation, ideally with a background in public accounting or a large corporate tax department.
• Solid understanding of ASC 740 income tax accounting and tax provision processes.
• Experience in a large multinational or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with CorpTax tax software and Oracle accounting systems.
