Manager, Supplier Development Engineering

Responsibilities

• Manage the Starlink team of Supplier Development Engineers across mechanical, electromechanical, and consumable components
• Hire, develop, and retain top talent while providing clear strategic direction
• Assess supplier capabilities and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), rate, and reliability campaigns
• Ensure standardized qualification approaches through equipment buy-off checklists, SAT, and FAT
• Drive supplier improvement programs using Lean methodologies, scorecards, and audits
• Interface with engineering and production teams to define production roadmaps

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• 3+ years in a quality, reliability, supply chain, or engineering role
• 1+ years in a formal management capacity with direct reports
• Ability to travel up to 60-75% during the work week
• Willingness to work long hours, including some nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert knowledge in commodities like silicon manufacturing, PCB/PCBA, or contract manufacturing scaling
• Knowledge of supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, FAI)
• Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9000, TS, or AS9100
• Proficiency in statistical techniques (Minitab, Six Sigma, DOE)
• Experience with 8D problem solving, PFMEA, and GD&T
• Knowledge of Lean concepts
