About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop independent, integrated multi-channel communications strategies
  • Research and write stewardship reports, cultivation materials, and fundraising proposals
  • Develop targeted communications and project-specific briefings to support fundraising objectives
  • Create media relations plans that align with overall marketing and communications strategies
  • Edit content for style, tone, and brand consistency
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure communications reflect advancement campaign goals
  • Monitor project and program accounts and serve as a resource for specialized issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 6-7 years of experience in integrated marketing and communications
  • Proven experience writing fundraising proposals, stewardship reports, and cultivation materials
  • Strong project management skills, including needs analysis, planning, and evaluation
  • Superior professional writing ability with a demonstrated portfolio of work
  • Knowledge of integrated marketing communications and channel planning
  • Experience managing relationships across complex, multi-stakeholder environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Canadian innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem
  • Experience working within a post-secondary education system
