Manager Strategic Communications and Advocacy

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee strategic communications and advocacy plans, including message development, media relations, and digital advocacy.
• Advise clients and internal teams on communications strategy and content creation.
• Build and maintain professional media relationships and manage media inquiries or crisis communications.
• Coordinate grassroots and "grass tops" campaigns to influence policy and public opinion.
• Produce speeches, talking points, and multimedia content for various platforms.
• Conduct research to evaluate communication effectiveness and stay updated on political and industry developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects or processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research databases.
• Ability to distill complex concepts into simple, compelling messages.
• Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible communications experience.
• Experience in a law firm, public affairs firm, government entity, or professional services organization.
• Experience working on political campaigns at the local, state, or national level.
• Experience in crisis management or industries such as energy, infrastructure, technology, or tax policy.
• Existing relationships with members of the media.
• Advanced degree.
