Manager, Stem Cell Array

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite operations for the JGM Stem Cell Array, an automated platform for propagating and distributing human iPSC lines.
• Provide leadership and oversight for staff, including assigning duties, conducting performance appraisals, and managing key databases.
• Manage laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, supply procurement, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Support experimental execution, assay development, and protocol optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including project managers, engineering teams, and technical support personnel.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Cellular Biologists on staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in cellular and molecular biology (or key expertise with iPSC culture).
• 2+ years of documented success in employee management and mentorship.
• Mastery of aseptic techniques at BSL2, qPCR, and DNA extraction.
• Experience interfacing with automation systems and liquid handling protocols.
• Experience with high-throughput cellular and molecular assays for quality control and assurance.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot existing protocols and interpret scientific results.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with biospecimen handling, processing, dissociation, preservation, and distribution.
• Experience working with human clinical samples.
