About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end state licensing activities for life sciences, pharmaceutical, and medical device clients.
- Provide full-service licensing oversight, including preparing application packages and managing submissions through approval.
- Conduct regulatory research to interpret state requirements for wholesale, 3PL, pharmacy, and controlled substance licensing.
- Own the full lifecycle of client licenses, including renewals, amendments, and periodic reporting.
- Serve as a primary liaison between clients and state regulatory agencies to resolve licensing issues.
- Monitor regulatory changes and emerging compliance trends to ensure continuous audit readiness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including legal and compliance, to support corporate initiatives and business development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, public policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in state licensing or regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven experience preparing and submitting state license applications (e.g., 3PL, wholesale distributor, pharmacy).
- Strong research and interpretation skills regarding state statutes and agency guidance.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented workflows.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with regulatory agencies and state boards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s, PhD, or PharmD degree in a scientific or business discipline.
- Experience working with state boards of pharmacy or departments of health.
- Knowledge of federal regulations impacting state licensing, such as DSCSA or DEA requirements.
- Prior experience in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with Regulatory Information Management Systems (RIMS) or compliance tracking tools.
