About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing software engineering team responsible for product development and system integrations.
- Set the technical vision and establish engineering standards across front-end, back-end, QA, and cloud technologies.
- Partner with senior leadership, designers, and product teams to analyze trade-offs between usability and performance.
- Manage technology team members by providing training, mentorship, and performance direction.
- Ensure optimized performance, scalability, accessibility (ADA), and 24/7 availability of systems.
- Oversee data security and compliance with applicable laws.
- Recruit, hire, and develop software and data engineering talent.
- Implement AI code development practices to stay current with the evolving technical landscape.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).
- 6 years of experience in developing web-based applications and web services.
- 2 years of experience leading teams of software engineering professionals.
- Proven experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party products with existing infrastructure.
- Strong ability to provide architectural leadership and coach engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience working in a startup or early-stage company environment through periods of scaling.
