About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing software engineering team responsible for product development and system integrations.
  • Set the technical vision and establish engineering standards across front-end, back-end, QA, and cloud technologies.
  • Partner with senior leadership, designers, and product teams to analyze trade-offs between usability and performance.
  • Manage technology team members by providing training, mentorship, and performance direction.
  • Ensure optimized performance, scalability, accessibility (ADA), and 24/7 availability of systems.
  • Oversee data security and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop software and data engineering talent.
  • Implement AI code development practices to stay current with the evolving technical landscape.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).
  • 6 years of experience in developing web-based applications and web services.
  • 2 years of experience leading teams of software engineering professionals.
  • Proven experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party products with existing infrastructure.
  • Strong ability to provide architectural leadership and coach engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience working in a startup or early-stage company environment through periods of scaling.
