Manager, Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Translate functional plans into operational delivery processes and guide cross-functional pods through ambiguity
• Champion spec-first development and use metrics to surface signal and unblock the team
• Apply AI-assisted code review as the default, focusing human review on security, data access, and architecture
• Communicate clearly across engineering, product, and external stakeholders to drive cross-squad alignment
• Partner with customers, product, design, and GTM teams to translate user problems into shipped features

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years of engineering management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering
• Proficiency in React, GraphQL, Node.js, and Postgres
• Experience with spec-driven, AI-native development (e.g., using Claude or equivalent)
• Experience with AI evaluations, including designing eval sets and tracking metrics across model changes
• Familiarity with agentic architecture (e.g., LangGraph), async job queues (RabbitMQ), and SSE streaming

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or shipping products with AI-generated media pipelines (TTS, AI video, or multi-modal content)
• Background in authoring tool platforms or e-learning content publishing pipelines (SCORM, xAPI)
